The short version

  • No account, no cookies, no analytics, no ads.
  • Your scripts and settings stay in your browser.
  • Recordings stay in your browser until you download them.
  • QuietCue never receives your voice or your video.

What is stored on your device

  • Scripts: saved in this browser's IndexedDB. They are never sent to a server.
  • Settings: saved in this browser's localStorage, such as speed, colours and your consent choices.
  • App files: your browser caches the app so it works offline.

This data belongs to your browser profile. QuietCue cannot see it, and it does not follow you to another device.

Recordings

Camera and microphone are used only when you start a recording or the camera preview, and only after your browser asks you. A take is kept in the memory of the open tab until you download it, and then it is a normal file on your device. Closing the tab discards any take you have not downloaded. Nothing is uploaded.

Voice follow

Voice follow uses your browser's speech recognition. QuietCue never receives your audio.

  • When your browser can recognise speech on your device, such as Chrome with a language pack installed, the audio stays on your device.
  • Otherwise the browser sends audio to its vendor's speech service (Google, Apple or Microsoft) to turn it into text. QuietCue asks for your explicit agreement before starting this. Without it, voice follow does not run. The vendor's own privacy policy applies to that audio.

You can withdraw consent by turning voice follow off or clearing this site's data.

Phone remote

The remote connects your phone and the prompter through a small relay. The relay only passes control commands (play, pause, faster and so on) and numeric status (speed, progress, time remaining, whether you are recording). It never sees your script text or its title. It stores nothing, and the room code that pairs the two devices is random.

Hosting and server logs

QuietCue is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and keep the service secure, Cloudflare may process standard request metadata, such as your IP address and the browser you use. QuietCue itself sets no cookies, and adds no tracking, analytics or advertising. It does not store that metadata or use it to identify you.

Delete your data

  • Delete a script from the library to remove it.
  • Clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove all scripts, settings and the cached app. In Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Site settings, then this site.
  • Recordings you have downloaded are ordinary files; delete them as you would any file.

Since QuietCue holds no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on a server.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Read the guidefor how each feature works.
